Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Dadaa helps busy dads spend more meaningful time with their kids. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (dadaa.app) and our app (play.dadaa.app), how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English.

Who we are

Dadaa is operated by SIA Breakthrough (reg. no. 40203425322), Rīga, Latvia, which is the data controller for the information described in this policy. For anything privacy-related, contact hello@dadaa.app.

What we collect

Your account

You sign in to Dadaa with your Google account. When you do, we receive and store your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We also detect your timezone so daily activities and streaks line up with your actual day.

Information you add about your children

To suggest age-appropriate activities, the app lets you add a child's name and birth date, and record completed activities, points and optional mood check-ins. This information is provided by you, is visible only in your account, and is used solely to personalise the app for your family. Children do not have accounts and we never communicate with children. You are welcome to use just a first name or a nickname for your child.

Photos and diary notes

You can optionally attach a photo and a short note to an activity or diary entry — the moments you want to remember. These are stored privately and are visible only in your account: photos are held in a private storage bucket and served only to you, through an access-controlled link after you sign in. They are not public, not listed in any directory, and not shared with anyone unless you deliberately choose to share a moment yourself. If you use the sharing feature, you can cover your child's face with a sticker before sharing. You can delete a photo or note at any time.

Payments

If you buy a paid plan, the checkout is handled by our payment partner Paddle, acting as the merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy — Dadaa never sees or stores your card details. We only receive what we need to activate your plan: your email address, the plan you chose, and the status of your subscription.

How you use the app

We keep simple, first-party records of activity in the app (for example sign-ins and features used) to understand what is working and improve Dadaa. This data stays with us and is not shared with advertising networks.

Website analytics

Our marketing website (dadaa.app) uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. These cookies are set only if you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit — if you decline, no analytics cookies are loaded. The app itself (play.dadaa.app) does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

How we use your information

Under EU data protection law (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (emails and analytics cookies), and our legitimate interest in improving the product.

What we never do

Who helps us run Dadaa

Like most small products, Dadaa is built on trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:

Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data and your children's information from our systems, except where we are legally required to keep something.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Just email hello@dadaa.app and we will sort it out. If you are in the EU/EEA and feel we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We take particular care with children's photos and information. All data is encrypted in transit; sign-in is handled by Google rather than passwords we store; and your family's data — including photos — is private to your account and only accessible to you after you sign in. Photos are kept in a private storage bucket, not on public links. Access to production data is limited to the founder, and we keep the amount of data we collect deliberately small. No system is perfectly secure, but privacy is a first consideration in how Dadaa is built.

Children's privacy

Dadaa is made for parents and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Any information about a child in Dadaa is entered by their parent, belongs to the parent's account, and can be deleted by the parent at any time.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app.
